Special Programs to Honor Veteran’s Day
dca, Veteran's Day,The Dorchester Center for the Arts (DCA) will present two special programs in November to honor Veteran’s Day. Activities include a photography exhibit by Adjutant General James A. Adkins and a concert by the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage Brass Band.
Adjutant General Adkins will have an individual show of his photography work in the front gallery at DCA in November. Highlighting the exhibit will be a discussion about the importance of Veterans Day led by General Adkins on Saturday, November 12 at 5:30 p.m. The talk will be part of the Second Saturday events from 5:00 – 7:30 that evening at DCA.
On Sunday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. the USAF Heritage Brass Band will present a free concert at the George B. Todd Performance Hall on DCA’s 2nd Floor in Cambridge. Heritage Brass features the diverse talents of five professional Airman-musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. From Bach to the Beatles and patriotic favorites, Heritage Brass offers a musical experience enjoyed by all audiences. The personnel performing will be on trumpets: Technical Sergeant Mark Nixon and Technical Sergeant Jon Rattay; on horn Staff Sergeant Juan Jimenez; on trombone Staff Sergeant Michael Mannella, and on tuba Airman First Class Douglas Jones.
