Commercial Real Estate Movement in Dorchester County

Commercial real estate interests in Dorchester County are beginning to see movement in the market.  According to realtor Valerie Powell Brown, with Charles C. Powell, Inc., there are currently 41 active commercial/industrial properties in the county.

Among recent moves in Cambridge, Provident State Bank will open its new location in the old Bank of the Eastern Shore building at 301 Crusader Road in Cambridge on October 15. The bank has two other Dorchester County branches – Main Street in Secretary and East New Market Road in Hurlock.

Wright’s Art & Framing moved to 319 High Street on October 1, which brings another arts-related business to Cambridge’s designated Arts & Entertainment District.

Powell says she is currently working on a new lease located at 100 Bramble Street, which is a building owned by Cambridge surgeon William Bair, M.D.  A 3,200-foot space zoned for industrial use is another new Cambridge listing Powell has at 104 Goodwill Avenue.

In 1975, Powell, Inc. was founded by Brown’s father. She is celebrating her 30th year as a licensed broker in Maryland and Delaware. The company has 17 agents working in the mid-shore area.
