Ladies

The Great Gourmet opened in 2003 and is located on the edge of Dorchester county. Throughout their nearly 2 decades of business they have grown fast and furiously. So much so, that in 2008 they were named Inc. Magazine’s Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the country. Kim Scott, Owner & CEO, credits their growth and longevity to her desire for continual improvement, market diversification, and her loyal customers.

The Great Gourmet is family owned and is operating with 3 generations of strong willed and business savvy women. Their company mainly operates through e-Commerce/television and order fulfillment. By partnering with QVC as a supplier of specialty local crab cakes, the Great Gourmet has adapted to become a national volume shipper.  Their orders for Mother’s Day alone were roughly 5,000 orders for crab cakes. In addition to that partnership, the Great Gourmet fulfills national orders for frozen food like desserts, hotdogs, hamburgers, seafood, and more. Some of Kims most famous customers include Martha Stewart, Good Morning America, The View, and Shark Tank to name just a few.

Orders for food shipping and online shopping spiked exponentially in 2020 as the country was stuck at home during the pandemic. As restrictions lift, orders are leveling out and are  more in line with pre-pandemic order quantities.  Similar to many businesses, locally and nationally,  The Great Gourmet has experienced pandemic challenges like supply chain shortages, seafood availability, labor shortages, and material prices. Kim plans on persevering to meet these challenges head on and hopes to diversify her business and eventually expand onsite.

She credits her loyal team and local community for their support and believes in providing an uplifting hand to all. Be on the lookout for her future plans and follow her on social media for information about her annual community food sales and for special promotions.
