Patriot Point is a coastal waterfront retreat located in Dorchester county. They provide a relaxing and safe environment for our nation’s wounded, ill and injured service members, their families and caregivers. This year marks their 5th anniversary as a veteran 501(c)3 based facility offering peer to peer communication in the outdoors.
At Patriot Point, service members and their families can enjoy outdoor recreational activities on over 290 acres that sits on 2 miles of shoreline. Their main purpose is to create a destination for those who have served in the military so that they can have a place to recharge away from the stress and challenges of their everyday lives. Guests can choose how they want to recover and relax from a long list of activities available like fishing, boating, crabbing, hunting, sitting on the porch, studio art or simply taking in the views overlooking the water. Patriot Point provides the opportunity for our service men and women to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a healing environment.
Patriot Point works with other 501(c)3 veteran based organizations to coordinate one-of-a-kind experiences on the Eastern Shore for service members. They have had the opportunity to partner with organizations like Leashes of Valor, Freedom Hunters, the USO, Operation Restored Warrior, and Gold Star Teen Adventures. The facility has room for 18 individuals onsite between the guest house and main housing facility. While onsite guests have access to a full fitness center, a beach, walking trails, quiet rooms, and endless recreational outdoor equipment like kayaks, canoes, a boat, and much more.
