Chesapeake Mural Trail and Tour

Tour Mural Trail, Earn Badges & Dine Outside

When Governor Hogan lifted restrictions on outdoor dining and recreation, many people breathed a sigh of relief. As warmer weather beckons more of us outdoors, Dorchester is fortunate to have many ways to enjoy open roads and outside activities.

One of the county’s most unique outdoor experiences is the growing Chesapeake Mural Trail and its free, award-winning audio guide. Narrated by artist Michael Rosato, who shares his inspiration behind each painting, the tour was recently updated.

“We’ve added a new interactive feature on our cell phone app that allows users to earn “badges” when they visit sites on the trail,” said Heart of Chesapeake Country Area Manager Julie Gilberto-Brady. “Each site on the Mural Tour now includes a badge that is awarded when someone answers a quiz question.”

Designed for school-age children – but fun for the whole family – the badges are an inspiring and fun way to learn about Dorchester county’s history and culture.

Plan a picnic for one of the beautiful parks along the route – or enjoy dining at outdoor cafes located near each mural.
