Maryland Seafood Marketing Stakeholders Meet in Cambridge

The Eastern Shore Innovation Center welcomed seafood industry stakeholders today for a Maryland Department of Agriculture listening session focused on the future of Maryland seafood marketing. Harvesters, processors, restaurants, distributors and other industry representatives were invited to share the challenges and opportunities they see in marketing locally harvested seafood.

MDA, in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and industry partners, is gathering input from stakeholders to identify barriers, strengthen marketing efforts and develop strategies that better support Maryland’s seafood industries.

Hosting the Eastern Shore session in Dorchester County provides an important opportunity for voices from a region closely connected to Maryland’s commercial seafood industry to help inform that work. Feedback gathered through the statewide sessions will contribute to findings and recommendations scheduled to be published in December.
