Abby Messick Director of Golf Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay | Dorchester County EDA

When Governor Hogan announced that Maryland’s golf courses could resume play May 7, Dorchester’s Abby Messick breathed a sigh of relief. As Director of Golf for the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort, she was ready to implement precautionary measures and best practices to resume safe and healthy operations.

The River Marsh Golf Club reopened May 11 and is currently booking tee times from 8am-5pm daily. Rates vary depending on day and time of play.

Messick has implemented numerous safety measures and precautions to ensure the health and safety of the Club’s members and guests. Guidelines for play include physical distancing and enhanced operational measures for check in, carts, payment and play.

And, while the Pro Shop is currently closed, golf balls, hats and other merchandise are available as needed from staff. The Hyatt tentatively plans to reopen to hotel and restaurant guests on Monday, June 22.
