ESIC Named Among the Largest Incubators and Accelerators in MD
Last month the Eastern Shore Innovation Center (ESIC) was named among the Largest Incubators and Accelerators in Maryland by the Baltimore Business Journal (BBJ) for 2022. Ranked by its membership information obtained by means of a survey completed by management and BBJ research, ESIC placed 17 out of 23. Membership ranking for ESIC was defined by the number of startup businesses and co-working space membership participating within the innovation center receiving incubator services based on current data as of October 2022.
The Eastern Shore Innovation Center is a 13,500 square-foot County facility, located in the Dorchester County Regional Technology Park, adjacent to the Cambridge-Dorchester Regional Airport on Bucktown Road in Cambridge—presently home to five startups and multiple coworking businesses. The incubator also houses Dorchester County Economic Development. Clientele at ESIC includes mid-shore entrepreneurs, college graduates, home-based business owners, retirees and encore careerists.
“We are so excited that ESIC received this noteworthy recognition being named among BBJ’s The List 2022,” said ESIC Incubator Manager Tina Thompson, who began working on the survey early on in the month. “The Eastern Shore Innovation Center is a facility that ignites innovation, collaboration and community, creating new opportunities and thriving futures for startups and small businesses,” she said.
