In business since 2012, owners Jay and Christie Hubbard have built Daystar Manufacturing from the ground up. Daystar is a custom injection molding manufacturer located in the Hurlock Industrial Park that specializes in low to medium volume high value-added services.
Their services include custom plastic manufacturing, mold making, design assistance and value-added capabilities such as decorating, assembly and packaging. Daystar provides complete turn-key solutions for their customers. They have five injection molding machines and are currently running three shifts to meet the demand.
The family run and operated business has recently expanded to 12 full time employees and two part time. Jay Said, ”At Daystar our staff is what makes up our company and it is through their hard work and diligence that we have the ability to maintain this company and keep this dream alive.”
Daystar has manufactured products for many industries and works with several local companies. Medical devices, LWRC firearm accessories, Lab products as well as paint brush handles for Bel-art Products are just a few of the wide array of products manufactured in the Hurlock facility. Most recently they have partnered with Draft Top, the original bar tool designed to take the top off of 12 & 16 oz beverage cans. Daystar molds, assembles and fully packages the Draft Top product, which was featured on Shark Tank.
