Dorchester County Economic Development recently celebrated the graduation of nine local businesses from the second cohort of the Business Expansion and Advancement for Minority & Small Businesses (B.E.A.M.S.)program.

Funded by the Midshore Regional Council and facilitated by Will Holmes of WHC, the multi-week program equips entrepreneurs with practical tools to strengthen operations, increase revenue, manage expenses, prepare for capital access, and build long-term sustainability.

Participants received guidance from local and national experts in areas including finance, marketing, human resources, and business planning, while also developing individualized growth strategies tailored to their businesses. Programs like B.E.A.M.S. continue to support entrepreneurship across Dorchester County by helping small businesses strengthen operations, expand opportunity, and contribute to the county’s economic vitality.
