The Dorchester County Economic Development Office welcomes Quevera as the new technology face in the water moves us branding campaign. Quevera, a software engineering company headquartered in Columbia, MD expanded to Cambridge and will move into the Eastern Shore Innovation Center this month.

CEO Lee Simms added, “We are very excited to be part of the Dorchester County community and look forward to growing a partnership with Dorchester County schools and the Economic Development office. Quevera is vested in this community and excited about residing in the technology incubator.  We are letting ‘water move us’ to opportunities throughout the Eastern Shore.”

Maryland is a national leader in Technology. In 2014 the US Department of Commerce ranked Maryland first for technology based Entrepreneurship and Innovation.  It was also marked first in the nation for concentration of businesses and jobs in Science, Technology, Math, and Engineering (STEM) and fourth in the nation for tech employment density.

Quevera provides local students internships in the technology field. Simms and his team worked closely with Kermit Hines, Principal at the Dorchester Career and Technology Center, to create an internship designed to be educational and further student’s professional goals. Their internships are paid and provide students with school credit.
