Dorchester County welcomes Quevera, a new software company, to the offices at the Cambridge-Dorchester Regional Airport. Headquartered in Columbia, MD, Quevera has expanded to Cambridge and will move into the Eastern Shore Innovation Center upon completion.

Quevera’s combined technical experience is vast and permits them to penetrate several industries including health care, government services, education, and commercial sectors. Providing custom software engineering services and solutions for their clients, Quevera builds lasting partnerships based on set extraordinary values.

CEO Lee Simms added, “We are very excited to be part of the Dorchester County community and look forward to growing a partnership with Dorchester County schools and the Economic Development office. Quevera is vested in this community and excited about residing in the coming technology incubator. We are letting ‘water move us’ to opportunities throughout the Eastern Shore.”

Simms and his team worked closely with Kermit Hines, Principal at South Dorchester Career and Technology Center, to create an internship designed to be educational and further student’s professional goals. Their internships are paid and provide students with school credit. The five interns that were chosen to participate in Quevera’s program represent both Cambridge South-Dorchester and North Dorchester High Schools are Luke Schulze, Laticia Ennals, Wilfredo Estrella, Amhad Dajani and Alaina Henry.

Operations Support Manager Robert Carrion said, “We are very impressed with the passion and dedication our interns display.” Quevera has been in Dorchester County less than two months and has positively impacted our community with education and opportunity for our young people. Carrion recently moved to the county with his family and teaches the internship program for Quevera.

The Dorchester Economic Development office has worked with Quevera on site selection and community partnership. Dorchester County Economic Development Director Keasha Haythe added, “Quevera is the type of company the Economic Development office is focused on attracting to Dorchester County to diversify industry sectors. We are glad to have the new business here and believe a great working relationship between education, economic development, and Quevera will continue to grow.”
