In an effort to increase veteran hiring in the state of Maryland, a 100-day challenge for employers to recruit veterans has been created. Operation Hire stared started June 1 and ends September 9, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. Recognition will be given to the employer with the most veteran hires and the largest percentage of veteran hires by organization or agency workforce.
Employers are not required to be based in Maryland; however, the veteran must be a Maryland resident. Employers are encouraged to support veteran hiring and join in the challenge. Operation Hire has information on veteran-friendly jobs in Maryland as well as employer participation information listed on their website.
