Protenergy Natural Foods, a Canadian manufacturer, purchases FoodSwing assets and establishes its U.S. operations in Cambridge, Md on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Christian S. Johansson, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, and Kevin Tracey, President of Protenergy Natural Foods Corporation, today announced that the company’s affiliate, Protenergy Natural Foods Inc., has acquired the manufacturing assets of FoodSwing Inc., and has established operations in Cambridge, Md. Headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Protenergy plans to significantly expand its production capacity to meet the growing demand for its soups, broths, sauces and gravies. The company may hire as many as 100 full-time employees in Cambridge over the next few years.

Kevin Tracey, President of Protenergy remarked, “We are very excited with this acquisition. It gives Protenergy significant new capacity and capability required to meet growing customer demand for our products.
