2016 has been a banner year for the Eastern Shore Innovation Center (ESIC). In the first year the ESIC, launched 11 new businesses with exciting growth potential. They have added 27 new jobs since opening and forecast 100 new technology-based jobs by 2019. ESIC companies are:
-Cambridge Federal, a Dell reseller, LiveScan provider and consultant in Security, Base Operations and Energy Efficiency
-Dalcom Engineering, a consultancy delivering engineering, safety, IT and management services
-F.L. Holding, an agricultural branding business celebrating the joy of the agriculture lifestyle
-Mapping Technologies, providing aerial mapping and underground methane tracking
-Quevera, a software engineering firm delivering custom technology solutions
-Purdy Group, a federal contractor developing a knowledge management center for consultants
-Hooper’s Island Oyster Hatchery and Oysters Inc., an aquaculture business delivering oysters to consumers
-iValueLED, providing high value LED lighting for commercial and municipal energy savings
-Garvey Environmental, a provider of innovative mold remediation services
-SunXAnalytical, a laboratory service providing water testing and agriceutical product development
-Annapolis Defense and Security, a security service provider
The capacity to compete
ESIC provides start-up businesses the capacity to compete on an even footing with established businesses on the Western Shore.

ESIC has improved its offering by:
Installing video and secure badge entry so clients can qualify for classified contracts
Adding webcasting and conferencing capability to provide access to training traditionally only offered on the Western Shore
Securing a grant from Rural Maryland Council to help build a wet lab in the unfinished space to be occupied by SunXAnalytical
Arranging for business office access for clients when business takes them to Salisbury, Easton, and at two incubators on the Western Shore
Securing certification for holding Google webcast seminars
Installing a 3D printer to support innovation
