Located in Hurlock, Maryland, Win Transport Inc. specializes in the delivery of frozen foods and frozen seafood. Win Transport focuses on Less than Truckload (LTL) deliveries but has a department that handles full truckloads. Providing services in all 48 continental states, but mainly working out of Los Angeles, California, and Miami, Florida, their professional independent drivers deliver products safely, on time, and intact.
Currently, Win Transport’s workforce is comprised of 36 full-time and 45 part-time employees. Wayne Cole, co-owner and CFO, said, “One of the biggest rewards is hiring locally, watching them develop into the industry and returning money back into the local economy.” Known for on-time delivery and more than 60 years of collective brokerage experience, Win Transport is a gleaming example of a successful business in Dorchester County. “We are continually growing and anticipate adding more employees and space in the future,” added Cole.
With major pickup points from New England to the Mid-Atlantic area, their Dorchester County site provides the perfect strategic location for the business. According to Cole, they started their business in Dorchester County because the region’s trucking hub was taking off. There were several partners they could use for warehousing and transfer facilities. Rental rates for both office and warehousing were affordable. Many independent truckers were in the area, and there was a pool of experienced dispatchers to choose from. Dorchester County also provided a group of skilled mechanics ranging from diesel to refrigeration mechanics.
In effort to attract businesses, market, and unify the county, the Dorchester County Economic Development (DCED) Office developed the “water moves us” marketing campaign. Win Transport was recently featured in DCED’s “water moves us” business attraction videos. Cole highlights their continued growth and benefits of doing business in Dorchester County.
