Realize the American Dream of Homeownership
The public is invited to attend a homeownership workshop called, Community Outreach for Attainable Cambridge Housing, or ‘COACH’ Day, Saturday, October 19th from 10am- 1pm to be held at 1000 Goodwill Avenue.
This first of its kind community outreach event, will assemble valuable agencies and funding resources to discuss their products and services that will help residents. The goal of the workshop is to explain the benefits of homeownership and empower citizens to purchase their own home. An additional component of the workshop will provide support for current homeowners in maintaining their properties.
Event sponsors, the City of Cambridge, Habitat for Humanity Choptank, and Delmarva Community Services, have confirmed various resources such as the Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD). Representatives will be available to discuss current programs and counseling services with attendees both one-on-one and through three 45-minute sessions. The topics scheduled are: Maryland Mortgage Programs at 10:30am; First Time Home Buyers & Panel Discussion at 11:15am and; Successful Homeowner Tips at Noon.
Representatives from BB&T, National Bank of Cambridge, Provident State Bank, SunTrust Bank, Talbot Bank and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be available to discuss various mortgage options. Delmarva Power and the Mid Shore Board of Realtors will participate throughout the workshop as well.
The opportunity to realize the American Dream of homeownership is supported by the ample inventory of homes available in Cambridge. Attendees with an interest in purchasing properties will receive valuable information on funding opportunities and programs to assist in making it a reality.
