Public invited to attend September 24 meeting

The City of Cambridge, in collaboration with Maryland Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO), is conducting a feasibility study for the multipurpose venue known as Governor’s Hall at Sailwinds Park. A meeting will be held Tuesday, September 24, 6:00 to 7:30 pm, at Jimmie & Sook’s, 527 Poplar Street UPDATE:  Governor’s Hall at Sailwinds Park. The public is invited to attend for a brief introduction of the study team, overview of the study scope of work, and offer feedback as to what is important to consider for a public venue.

The 12-week public venue, market feasibility study kicked off in early August to analyze replacement options for Governor’s Hall. The study was suggested by a result of Sailwinds 2020 community engagement meetings held early this year.

Facilitated by strategic planning consultant Kristoffar Nelson of Conventions, Sports & Leisure International, the market feasibility study will examine operations, management structure, facility attributes, and condition of Governor’s Hall and provide Cambridge with recommendations for alternative locations and replacement costs.

Findings and recommendations will be presented to the Mayor and City Council by mid-November. To learn about the study and opportunities for involvement, email
