The Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA) hosted a Rural Economic Development Session at Salisbury University. The Session focused on the lower shore and the resurgence of rural Communities. Keynote speaker, Ken Holt, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development set the tone for the conference bringing his expertise in neighborhood revitalization, finance and housing issues.
There were two panels; exploring reasons Why Downtowns Matter and Real Estate Reuse. Charlie Fairchild II, owner of Fairchild Properties closed the session with a redevelopment overview of two real estate projects along Route 50 and the positive impact they will make on the Shore.
