Industrial Parks:

Chesapeake Industrial Park
The premiere industrial park in the Cambridge area is the Chesapeake Industrial Park. Already "home" to several of the community's most diversified industries, this 64-acre, fully-planned facility is zoned I-1, offering maximum flexibility for large and small companies--from light manufacturing and office space to warehousing and distribution facilities.

It is further noteworthy that land covenants and ownership by Dorchester County provide assurances that today's high standards will be maintained throughout the Park. Phase I contains 48 acres and Phase II has 14 acres. All sites range from 5.0 to 9.0 acres and are fully equipped with water, sewer, and utilities. Natural gas is available to industrial and commercial users.

Bounded by US Route 50 and MD Route 16, the Maryland-Delaware Railroad intersects the park. Thus, rail sidings can be designed to serve several parcels. Community rail sidings are also available for rail shipping.

Some of the companies located in the Park include: a specialty printer, a blender of specialized mixed gases, a seafood processor, a plastic injection molding manufacturer, a specialty food processor, and a corrugated box manufacturer.

Hurlock Industrial Park
The second largest municipality in Dorchester County, Hurlock is only minutes away from the major trucking corridors of U.S. Routes 13 and 50. The town motto, On track...since 1892, reflects Hurlock's industrial beginnings where two rail lines intersected. Hurlock developed into a town and incorporated in 1892.

The town's industrial park is fully equipped with water, sewer, roads, lights, and electricity. Natural gas is also available to park residents. It is a Maryland State Enterprize Zone which offers many incentives to companies locating there. Hurlock's industries include: poultry operations, food processors, a display furniture manufacturer, and trucking and warehousing companies.
