Egide Acquires Santier

Following its strategy to concentrate on high-potential markets, Egide announces that it has acquired, as planned, the assets of TMS LLC (or Thermal Management Solutions, dba Santier), with the conditions laid down previously with them.  All these elements will be incorporated into a new US company, created for this purpose and named Santier Inc.Then, the Egide Group structure will be: Egide SA (France), owning 100% of Egide USA LLC, the later owning 100% of Egide USA Inc and Santier Inc.Egide SA, Egide USA Inc. and Santier Inc. are operating business respectively in Trappes and Bollene (France), Cambridge, MD (USA) and San Diego, CA (USA). Egide intends to integrate Santier, Inc. with its current executive leadership team: Kevin Cotner, current CEO of TMS, will continue as CEO of Santier Inc., and Mansoor Mosallaie, current Vice-President of TMS, will continue as the General Manager of Santier Inc. Harriet Tubman Byway Partner

Once the new Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center opens to the public on March 11, it is expected to draw visitors from all over the country – and the world. While here, visitors will be looking for lodging, dining, shopping, and other things to do in the area. Learn how your business can become a certified Harriet Tubman Byway partner and engage visitors during a free workshop on Feb. 21. The workshop runs from 5pm to 7:30pm at Chesapeake College Cambridge Center. The Tubman Business Initiative is a joint effort of Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce, Dorchester County Tourism, Dorchester County Economic Development, and the Maryland Office of Tourism.

Double Trouble Farms

Governor Larry Hogan visited Double Trouble Farms in Rhodesdale, MD to take part in the official ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating innovative technology that converts poultry waste to energy. Biomass Heating Solutions Limited (BHSL), an Irish company, utilizes Fluidized Bed Combustion Technology to reliably convert poultry manure into heat and electricity for use on the poultry farm. National Veterans Small Business Week

October 31- November 4, the Small Business Administration (SBA) will celebrate National Veterans Small Business Week (NVSBW) 2016. The SBA works with resource partners to provide information for veteran entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. National Preparedness Month

Did you know September is National Preparedness month? Do you have a plan in place if a natural disaster or emergency were to hit? Don’t wait until after a disaster to make a plan. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has several resources to guide your small business through the appropriate steps for emergency preparedness. Preparing for hurricanes, fire, tornados, flooding, earthquakes and even winter weather should be a priority for your business. Indie Craft Art Bazaar

The Indie Craft Art Bazaar is a free event designed to celebrate and showcase independent artists from the Mid-Atlantic region. The mission is to provide a unique outdoor venue for artisans to display and sell their work. The event will take place at the Ruark Boatworks located at 103 Hayward Street in Cambridge on October 8th from 10AM-4PM.  Over 20 artisans will be displaying and selling artwork at the outdoor bazaar.  Live music, food and local arts organizations will be on hand promoting upcoming events and programming.  There will be kids crafts and a “pop up” fall shop from Emily’s produce!  It will be a spectacular fall day on the shore!
